Amazing! Brett Martin’s cascade makes the grade for 19th century school building
Information about Brett Martin’s cascade makes the grade for 19th century school building
When it came to specifying a replacement rainwater system for a 19th century school building,
Located in the West Midlands and near Wolverhampton, Wightwick Hall School’s original cast iron stormwater system was no longer serviceable and had to be replaced as part of refurbishment work before the school was converted into an academy. Brett Martin provided the customer with full on-site technical support and recommended an inexpensive rainwater solution that had the look and feel of cast iron but had the long-term benefits of plastic.
Due to the age of the building and the changes in use over the years, there were no technical drawings from which a specification of services could be created. In order to meet the challenge, Brett Martin’s technical team was able to visit the construction site and help with the specification as well as with calculations and support with the installation technology.
The specification of the Cascade rainwater system included 112mm round style gutters and 68mm round downpipes with Tudor Rose Hoppers, all in Classic Black and with the authentic details and finish they were looking for. This has been complemented by the Cascade 110mm Push-Fit Soil System to provide a complete look and feel that architecturally matches the 19th century building and the original details of the previous cast iron system.
School Site Supervisor Simon Bruce said, “We are very happy with the replacement gutter and floor systems as the cast iron style matches the age and design of the school building. And since leaking gutters are now a thing of the past, the Cascade will help to protect the building for years to come. “
Significantly lighter than cast iron rainwater systems, Cascade is much faster, easier and safer to install at height, which offers the contractor and his customers huge savings in on-site installation costs. The system also has external mounting tabs that make power tool use easier and further speed up installation.
Using a reputable manufacturer like Brett Martin goes far beyond the quality and versatility of the product itself – they provide great technical support, detailed installation instructions, and maintenance guidelines to ensure rainwater systems perform exactly as promised.
With this school building now fully protected and ready to be converted into an academy, Brett Martin’s Cascade Cast Iron Style Rainwater System met the customer’s aesthetic and performance requirements while ensuring a quick, efficient, and economical installation.
