The SIKA product data sheet explains it like this;

It is an easy-to-prepare, bag-mix, expanding polyurethane foam.

Consists of a 2-component, pre-dosed polyurethane resin. When the 2 parts are mixed together, an expanding foam is created. It’s designed to be lightweight, quick-setting, and DIY-friendly.

No water or special tools required to use this, you mix it right after installation.

  • Mailbox contributions
  • signpost
  • Lampposts
  • Goalposts
  • Privacy fence posts
  • Cattle and animal fence posts

sika fence post mix instructions – step by step

Here are the instructions for using Sika PostFix Fence Post Mix.

Materials you will need:

  1. safety goggles
  2. scissors or a Utility knife
  3. gloves
  4. Sika post mix

STEP 1. Dig the hole to the diameter and depth required to support your post. Insert your post into the hole, level it, and secure or hold it in place. (there must be no standing water in the hole)

STEP 2. With safety glasses and gloves, roll the bag in the direction of the arrow (in the direction of the middle burst seal) until it tears and the two bags join.

STEP 3. Mix the combined ingredients by rubbing the bag over a 90-degree angle (like your leg) for 15 seconds. Allow the material to migrate from end to end in the bag. Do not pierce the pocket!

Step 4. After mixing, quickly cut off the corner of the bag marked with a dashed line. Pour the mixture into the bottom of the hole, evenly around the post before it expands.

STEP 5. You now want to level your post and adjust it exactly where you want it to be. You have about 10-15 seconds for this before the foam begins to swell and rise in the hole.

Support the post for up to 3 minutes while the polyurethane foam around the post hardens. After 3 minutes, the foam will be able to support the post by itself.

STEP 6. Wait 2 hours for it to harden completely before installing any fence parts. Use a handsaw to saw off any excess foam over the grade.

PRO TIP: Use a solvent such as paint thinner to remove any splashes from the post before they dry. Once dry, you’ll need to use a spatula to remove any excess foam.
